Borrowed ladder

Posted on July 8, 2009

We have a huge, 40-50 ft tall cherry tree in our backyard. Unfortunately, most of the branches are above my head so even though the boughs were fully laden with ripe red cherries, I could only pick the handfull within my reach. That was until I came home and found this in the back yard:

ladder

Ryan borrowed a ladder from a friend of ours who does landscaping stuff for a living. Thanks to the ladder, we were able to pick a TON of cherries!

In just 45 minutes, Ryan and I filled 3 huge mixing bowls full of cherries. We gave a few pounds away to the ladder donor, and still had many pounds to spare. We’ve been munching on these for several days now, and they’re delicious.

whoo hoo!! I was hoping you would be able to harvest those cherries. When we saw your tree we knew it was going to be full. Good job!! Cherry pie? Cherry tarts? Yummy!
